Here's a hint of optimism, I do anticipate getting a job.. eventually. But as of right now, four weeks away from graduation, I have nothing (optimism gone).
With that said, I'd like to share some wisdom with all of you who know a graduating senior. There are a few things we're all sick of hearing:
- So, what are you plans after graduation?
None. If I had some, you'd have heard about it from my facebook status, twitter account, or my parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles who are all sooo proud of their little Amy. - If you don't get a job, no body will - you have a great resume!
Thank you for telling me my resume looks great, I appreciate that. But as of right now, I'm in the same spot as someone with a resume... unemployed. - Moving back in with your parents will be a great way to save money.
Noted. But by 'save money', do you mean not spend any money on rent? Because I'm pretty sure when you're unemployed you're not saving any money. (Side note: Leases that go through August in college towns are ridiculous.) - Don't go to Germany for Oktoberfest, until you find a job.
I guess this doesn't apply to every college grad, but it does apply to me. Soo you're telling me not to plan a trip to abroad until I have a job, so that my boss can tell me I can't plan a trip abroad because of deadlines? Either let me travel the world unemployed, or find me a job. - Think about all the free time you'll have!
Free time doesn't mean much when you can't afford to do anything with it.
